“Travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape you.”

Story time... When I was younger I pretty much grew up as an only child. My parents and I would go on holidays to France. Being the only child, I'd want some kids to play with so off my parents would send me and sure enough aged 8 I’d make a new friend. I’d learn French, they’d learn English and we’d build sandcastles. Haha 🌴

Fast track 21 years here I am walking along the beach thinking well if I can make friends then, I can do it anywhere. As I strolled down the beach, I looked for a nice group of people. It’s very nerve racking to randomly just walk up, start talking and say hey can I hang out with you guys?! So I swam out to sea and heard some of my fav tunes from a boat party playing. I thought, I’ve got nothing to lose let’s just swim over. Before I knew it, I was onboard dancing away and jet skiing around looking at baby seals. From feeling a bit lonely, it was pretty epic to then be at a party with 11 boats all lined up with a fun group of people.

This is what travel and exploring is all about. It challenges you to go out of your comfort zone. Everyone is a stranger to begin with but quickly strangers become friends. You never know who you’ll meet and what fun times you share.
